Buchanan Housing Authority

The Buchanan Housing Authority owns and manages 46 units; and the Tallapoosa Housing Authority owns and manages 211 apartments from efficiency apartments to four-bedroom apartments. Affordable housing is defined as rental or owner-occupied housing that costs at or less than 30 percent of one’s gross income. Subsidized housing means a residence for which the federal government assists in paying. It can either be all or a portion of the monthly payment, depending on the person’s income.
