Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry – Crisis Ministry SVCM

Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry Clothes Closet has men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing as well as shoes. Clients can come every 21 days to choose a limited number of each item for every person in the household. We also have sheets, towels, and blankets which clients are eligible for every 6 months. There are also household items such as plates, bowls, glasses, silverware and basic kitchen utensils and small appliances. (SVCM) offers a “client choice” food pantry where clients call and a volunteer or staff member takes their food order from the list of available food items. Clients can come every 21 days for food. Clients can check once a week to see if free produce is available. SVCM distributes TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) to all eligible clients. Neighbors can receive TEFAP even if they do not meet the other eligibility requirements for other programs. To participate one must provide name, household size, either receive FNS benefits or qualify by income. All information is self-declared, kept confidential, and won’t be shared.
