Alleghany-Covington Department of Social Services
The Department of Social Services is comprised of two sections which deliver services to the citizens of Alleghany County and the City of Covington. The Benefit programs are programs such as Food Stamps, Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, etc. The Services Unit programs include employment services, supportive day care services, family counseling, Adult and child protective services, and others.
